Responsibility and Devotion
After its inception as a national University in 1997, Korea National University of Agriculture and Fisheries (KNUAF) has been in the front for educating students who want to become innovative farmers.KNUAF was established by Korean Government to foster young farm managers who will take the pivotal role in the rural community as the key producers and technology applicators. More than 85 percent graduates are being taken such leadership role in their farmland.
With such success in educating leaders in agriculture, KNUAF is being transformed to become Korea National University of Agriculture and Fisheries. As the new title implies the University begins educating people who will be working in the area of fisheries and aquaculture. In addition to the new area it explores, the University will be taking forestry in the curricula in the coming years. The University welcomes more responsibilities and challenges as the expansion brings.
The students enjoy government support including tuition, supplies, books and room and board during their study at the University. In return, the students will devote themselves to the country by farming for certain period of time. Devotion to the students by the faculty members never stop by graduation; the faculty members maintain contact with the students and provide guidance to the graduates to become successful farm managers. The strong tie between the University and industry through the guidance of graduates is the proud asset of ours.
The responsibility we proudly assume and devotion we enjoy will be continued.
